Code Lotus Center within the American Hospital aims to inform everyone about living with awareness and instill a state of general well-being. Within this frame, Code Lotus hosts world-famous doctors and writers and organizes events; the guest of one of these events in June, was world-renowned neuropsychiatrist, writer and physicist Dr. Daniel J. Siegel.
The event took place at Seed, an ideal venue within the Sakıp Sabancı Museum. 350 people attended the event, which attracted great attention from many different circles, from psychologists to parents, doctors to businessmen and businesswomen. Dr. Siegel enlightened the participants on the organic structure of the brain, how the child's developing mind can be fed, and the science of mindfulness.
Participants meditated collectively at the event, which was highly interactive. The elegant and delicious open buffet service and coffee breaks contributed to a very colorful environment where the participants fervently evaluated what they learned. The Bosphorus view was also worth seeing; definitely substantial enough to spark awareness of the philosophical concept of ‘staying in the moment’.
