Head of Gastroenterology-Hepatology Department in School of Medicine, Istanbul University from 2005 to 2010.
Organized numerous local and international gastroenterology congresses and graduation meetings.
Head of Istanbul Branch of Turkish Gastroenterological Association from 1999 to 2007.
Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology.
Authored more than 300 articles that were published in local and international journals and book chapters, and his studies were cited 1.800 times by international investigators.
Peer reviewer in national and international gastroenterology journals.
Described the Mungan’s syndrome.
