Prof. Talat Kırış, M.D.

Prof. Talat Kırış, M.D., was Clinical Observer at Royal Hallamshire, Sheffield School of Medicine, the U.K. and Western General Hospital, Edinburgh School of Medicine in 1991.
Attended two courses held by European Association of Neurosurgical Societies in Germany and Spain during his residency.
Received the “ Travel Fellowship” awards by “ Brain Investigations Society” and 2 ^nd Neurotrauma Symposium in Glasgow for his dissertation study authored in 1993.
Served as Head of Neurooncology Education and Training Group in Turkish Neurological Society from 2012 to 2014, Vice President of the Society from 2014 to 2017 and President of the Society from 2016 to 2017.
Also served as Co-President of Cerebrovascular Diseases Committee of World Federation of Neurosurgical Society in 2017 and of Mediterranean Neurosurgical Society in 2018.
Authored more than 100 articles that were published in international and national journals and book chapters along with being editor of 3 books.
Prof. Kırış is a TED speaker and he authored stories and essays published in numerous journals and newspapers.
He is interested in sailing and member of Advisory Board in Marine Forum of Koç University.
