  • Admitted as a research fellow to the Plastic Surgery Division of Baylor College of Medicine, Texas, in 1996. 
  • Recognized as Clinical Full Faculty Member at the Plastic Surgery Division of the same school in 1999.
  • Attained the title of associate professor from the Turkish Higher Education Institute in 2000 and from Baylor College of Medicine in 2006.
  • Served as a faculty member and conducted clinical studies as well as research at Baylor College of Medicine between 1999 and 2014.
  • Attended Rice University Department of Bioengineering and Houston University Department of Cell Biology as a faculty member.
  • Received 19 project grants and 13 awards/scholarships from numerous USA institutions, notably NIH, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Medical Association and Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation. Won the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons Research Award, an award handed to only one physician each year, twice and also received the PSEF National Endowment Grant Award thrice. 
  • Authored chapters in 7 scientific books on his respective field of specialization -as an editor in two of them. 
  • Has 55 articles published on international journals.
  • Has delivered over 90 presentations at international conventions -as an invited panelist in 34 of them. 
  • Conducted studies on tissue engineering, stem cell research and gene therapy as well as on his self-developed clinical techniques regarding midface, lip lift and contouring, eye contours and breast reduction. These pioneering studies were published as press releases in press and on visual media in the USA.
