Prof. Cenk Büyükünal, M.D.

Pediatric Surgery Pediatric Urology

Professor Cenk Büyükünal, M.D. worked previously as a doctor in the United States and England.
He published a total of 202 articles, 75 of which were featured in international journals and 127 in Turkish journals. He attended approximately 500 national and international congresses where he presented numerous papers. He was the editor and chapter writer of 15 books.
He is a recognized FEAPU (fellow of the European Academy of Paediatric Urology) of the European Society for Paediatric Urology (ESPU) and a certified FEAPS of the European Paediatric Surgeons' Association (EUPSA). He is also Chief editor of the Turkish Journal of Pediatric Surgery, assistant editor of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Surgery International.
He was awarded Honorary Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Egyptian Pediatric Surgical Association (EPSA). He is a member of the European Society for Paediatric Urology (ESPU), the European Paediatric Surgeons' Association (EUPSA), the International Society of Paediatric Oncology, the International Society of Paediatric Surgical Oncology, the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons (BAPS), the Society for Pediatric Urology (PEDURO), the Turkish Pediatric Surgical Association (TÇCD), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and board member of European Academy of Pediatric Urology (EAPU) (2013-2019)
He received the Eczacıbaşı Science Award in 1987 and 1989. Overall Prof. Dr. Büyükünal has received 8 prestigious awards 4 of which are international.
Hobbies: A picture collection of Atatürk and child, collection of medical puppets, collection of ambulances (toys), collection of hospital cards/pictures of Turkey.
