Prof. Abut Kebudi, M.D. General Surgery In 1992, he worked on “Laparoscopic Surgery” and “Surgical Oncology” at the University of California, USA. In 1998, he became an Associate Professor of General Surgery and in 2004, he became a Professor of General Surgery. In 2012, he received the “Surgical Oncology Sub-branch” specialization and the “European Board of Surgery Honorary” diploma, and in 2014, he received the “European Breast Center Oncoplastic Breast Surgery” (Dusseldorf, Germany) certificate. He served as a Professor at the Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine between 2004-2016. He served as the Department of General Surgery, Head of Surgical Medical Sciences, Faculty Board Member, Faculty Board Member, Vice Dean and Head of the Health Law Center (SAHUMER) at the same faculty. Prof. Dr. Abut Kebudi is a Founding Member of the Marmara Anatolian Side Breast Diseases Continuous Education Meetings (MAYMET) platform and is on the organizing board of monthly regional and annual scientific breast cancer meetings with the European Society of Oncology (ESO). He is the Founding Member and Vice President of the “Senology Academy of Turkey” (SENATURK), which conducts national and international studies on Breast Diseases and Surgery. He has been a member of the Organizing Board and Scientific Board of the “International Reconstructive Breast Surgery” (IREBS) course, which is conducted annually with international faculty members, for 15 years. He is also a Founding Member of the Breast Surgery Association and the former president. He is a member of the “American College of Surgeons” (ACS), “European Association of Endoscopic Surgery”, “European Asian Society for Breast Disease” (EURAMA), “European Board of Surgery” (FEBS), “Endocrine Surgery Association”, “Surgical Oncology Association”, “Turkish Surgical Association”, “Istanbul Breast Diseases Association”, “Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association” and “National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association”. He conducts research and practices in the fields of General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Endocrine Surgery and especially Surgical Oncology. He has around 300 scientific publications published in national and international journals and presented at scientific congresses. Prof. Dr. Abut Kebudi currently serves as the Head of the Department of General Surgery at TC Okan University Faculty of Medicine and works part-time at the American Hospital General Surgery Breast Clinic.
