See a health care professional right away if the bleeding:

• Is so heavy that it soaks at least one pad or tampon an hour for two or more hours in a row.
• Happens with tiredness or shortness of breath.

Make an appointment with your care team if the bleeding:

• Affects daily life.
• Lasts longer than a week or happens between periods.
• Has blood clots that appear more than one day during the period.
• Is heavier than usual.
• Needs two pads to keep blood from soaking through.
• Happens after menopause.
