Code Lotus project was launched in 2018 with the motto "Heal Yourself" within the scope of the investments made by the American Hospital in the field of integrative medicine. As with many leading hospitals such as Cleveland Clinic and MD Anderson, at the Code Lotus Mindfulness Center, we offer specially designed programs and workshops that can be attended by our employees under intense stress, patients, and anyone who does not feel physically or psychologically well in response to the pace and stress of modern life.
We have been working on creating an 8-week program of Reducing Stress with Mindfulness under the supervision of specialist doctors, specially designed for people with burnout syndrome and stress fatigue. This program which is created by Dr. Jon Kabat Zin and is being offered at the Mass General Hospital will be launched in the second quarter of 2020.
Studies show that high tempo, stress, anxiety, and environmental factors trigger many diseases. This program constitutes group work that includes meditation and mindfulness practices and is structured based on scientific studies. As the week progresses, the program focuses on the conscious awareness of each person's daily life; experiencing the moment is the ability to be aware of feelings, thoughts, and sensations and to accept experiences. This process involves interpreting experience with awareness, an open heart, and an open mind.
Mindfulness practices are accepted in Europe and America; their effects are scientifically proven and are used actively. Mindfulness training works with the region of the brain where emotions and stress responses are located; stress reduction helps in regulating emotional intensities. The increase in creativity and empathy and the development of emotional intelligence helps to cope with anxiety, stress, depression, and burnout, and to manage emotional difficulties caused by health problems. (Positive effects have been observed on each participating patient’s overall quality of life; those suffering with diseases such as cancer, chronic pain, and fibromyalgia.)
